Dear Truman Parents and Students,
IT IS TIME FOR THE 19TH ANNUAL CHOOSE-A-THON !!
This year’s Choose-A-Thon is planned for Friday, October 13th, from 1:30-2:45, RAIN OR SHINE! The goal is to raise $20 or more of donations per participant. That would really help us out with upcoming school-wide activities and supports for our Truman student body throughout the year. Donations are to be turned into their ADVISORY teacher only between October 3rd and October 13th.
Students choose one of the following…
• Kickball on the Baseball Diamond
• Hoops/Volleyball in the Gym
• Reading, Crafts & Board Games in the Library
• Bingo in the Cafeteria
• Dancing on Main Street, or
• Ultimate Frisbee on the New Field
This is not a required event, but it is our major fundraiser for the year. We encourage all students to participate in this fun, school-wide event. Choosing not to participate in the activities is perfectly fine, but we hope you choose to help us out if you can. We also know $20 may be a financial hardship for some families. However, we have additional activities at all levels of contribution. Therefore, please do not let financial burden hinder your desire to give and participate. Contact Mr. Allen for more information.
This money goes towards the many activities that occur at Truman in the school year, including: field trips, new sports jerseys, pep assemblies, guest speakers, end-of-year activities, sports equipment, rewards and incentives, leadership camp, yearbook supplies, clubs, dances and much more. We do this one fundraiser for the year to eliminate the need for students to sell anything. Checks can be made out to Truman Middle School.
All students who participate will receive a Civi Day on October 13th. Also, any student bringing in $50 or more will receive an additional Civi Day on November 15th and donations of $100 will receive an additional Civi Day and a limousine ride to lunch on November 28th.
We ask that donations be a flat amount and be collected up front so students do not have to go back for collection of funds. WE DO NOT ALLOW door-to-door solicitation and want students to only ask parents or close relatives. Maybe this would be an opportunity for your child to work around the house and earn their donation.
We hope you can join us with your support and enthusiasm to make this Choose-A-Thon both enjoyable and profitable for our Titans. If you have any questions or would like to help, please contact Mr. Allen at 571-5628 or firstname.lastname@example.org
