High School Athletics

Eligible high school students compete in the Pierce County League and South Puget Sound League. Our member schools are part of the West Central District III and the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA). Our student-athletes have the ability to participate in as many as 21 different athletic offerings at the school level. 

 Lincoln, Mt. Tahoma, Stadium and Wilson High Sch​ools compete within the 3A classification in the Pierce County League, while Foss High School competes at the 2A level in the South Puget Sound League.

Students attending SOTA, SAMI, Oakland High School or another high school equivalent program may be eligible to compete for their resident comprehensive high school and should contact the Office of Student Life​ or resident high school for more information.

To part​icipate in high school athletics, students must:

  1. Complete and submit required registration form (including proof of required medical insurance)

  2. Submit proof of current physical exam signed by your  physician (physicals are good for 13 months).

  3. Maintain academic eligibility (Find details in the Interscholastic Athletics and Activities Regulations 2151R)

  4. Pay the required ASB fee at your participating school
