The district completed a major overhaul of our data warehouse. Why? ...to build a solid foundation supporting reliable reports for many years. Our new reports show data from the 2018 school year and beyond using new tools to visualize the data. Legacy reports show older data using older tools. The improved benchmarks should give you a better picture of how we're doing and help us make better data-driven decisions for Tacoma students.
Academic success is fostered by the creation of safe learning environments throughout our schools. Monitoring student behavior and the use progressive interventions to misbehavior is critical in the development of these safe learning environments.
Our current reports show data from the 2018 school year and beyond using improved reporting tools. Legacy reports show older data using older tools.
The benchmark displays the percentage of students who were not suspended or expelled from school.
Because a school year includes two calendar years, such as 2014-2015, the school year on the benchmark chart is identified by the second calendar year. For example, the 2014-2015 school year is identified as 2015 on the chart.
The data can be viewed by district, region, school, and race. The data can be further filtered by gender, English Language Learner status, free and reduced lunch status, special education status, and race.
Number of students without a suspension or expulsion divided by the total enrollment for the specified grade level.
Discipline data is maintained by schools in the student information system and is uploaded to the data warehouse daily.
The benchmark displays the most recent week's data for each school year.
