Report Card: Math Competencies Benchmark


Elementary students' progress towards meeting their grade level math competencies are evaluated three times each year.

Students' progress toward meeting the grade level competencies in math is evaluated using the following scale:

  • 4 = Exceeding end of the year standard
  • 3 = Meeting end of the year standard
  • 2 = Approaching end of the year standard
  • 1 = Performing significantly below end of the year standard
  • / = Introduced, but no basis for evaluation at this time
  • X = Not addressed at this time

Unders​​tanding the data

The benchmark displays the percentage of students at each level of the rating scale as measure at the end of 1st trimester and 3rd trimester. 

Because a school year includes two calendar years, such as 2014-2015, the school year on the benchmark chart is identified by the second calendar year. For example, the 2014-2015 school year is identified as 2015 on the chart.​​

The data may be viewed by district, region, school, and race. It can be further filtered by gender, English Language learner status, free and reduced lunch status, and special education status.


Number of students receiving a specific mark divided by the total number of student receiving a report card at the specified grade level.


Data retrieval schedule

Report card data is maintained in the student information system and is loaded to the data warehouse at the close of each report card period.
