Working hard to meet the diverse needs of all our students, Tacoma Public Schools provides several alternative learning sites.

Community-Based Transition Program (CBT)​
A transition services program for young adults ages 18–22.

Fresh Start at TCC
This Tacoma Community College program gives students the opportunity to complete their high school diploma requirements in a mature setting while accumulating college credit.​

Interim Alternative Educational Setting (IAES)
A program designed to provide access to special education services while a student has been expelled or suspended for bringing weapons or drugs to school, or causing serious bodily injury to others.

Serves youth, ages 12-18, committed to Comprehensive Mental Health Center’s locked, residential program for adolescents with serious mental illness.
