TITLE 1, Part A of the Elementary Education and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) provides financial assistance to states and school districts to meet the needs of educationally at-risk students. The goal of Title 1 is to provide extra instructional services and activities which provide extra instructional services and activities which support students identified as failing, or most at risk of failing the state's writing. The Title 1 program provides students with extra educational assistance beyone the regular classroom and serves students in elementary and secondary (middle & high) schools who have demonstrated extra assistance is needed. At Roosevelt, our focus is grades K-4 in literacy.
EXTENDED LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES (ELOs) includes a broad range of programs that provide children with academic interventions, enrichment and/or supervised activities beyond the traditional school day, and in some cases, beyond the traditional school year. At Roosevelt, we offer extra reading support after school two times per week. This gives students the opportunity to work on skills they have learned in their classrooms.
