Small Acts of Kindness

Stafford Elementary students send Worry Warriors to children impacted by Hurricane Harvey

10/3/2017 | TACOMA, Washington

Our hearts are heavy again today as we feel surrounded by tragedy. From hurricanes to news of recent gun violence, we understand these may be difficult situations for your children to understand. Tacoma’s school counselors help students understand and manage their feelings through a variety of activities, including art. School-wide, students at Stafford Elementary made Worry Warriors to send to children in Rockport, Texas impacted by Hurricane Harvey. “Tell me your worries as you go to bed, let me do the worrying for you instead. Place me under your pillow before you sleep, I’ll trade you your worry for a wish to keep.” This small act of kindness makes a difference for our students and children directly impacted by the disaster.
