Superintendent statement to the Bryant Montessori community

2/10/2012 | TACOMA, Washington

Superintendent-elect (Interim) Santorno wanted the Bryant Montessori community to know she is withdrawing the recommendation for Mr. King's appointment for the new principal at Bryant Montessori from the School Board agenda.

Santorno's letter reads:

To: Bryant Montessori Community

I have received a lot of commentary and information from many of you about the announcement earlier in the week that we intended to hire Gregory King as the next principal at Bryant.

I am withdrawing the recommendation for Mr. King’s appointment from this evening’s school Board agenda.

Please know that we received multiple solid references. In my earlier discussions with Mr. King and conversations with others at Seattle Public Schools, the issue of the Seattle investigation did not surface during the process.

As I have communicated to you in the past as we started the search process, I am committed to finding the best possible leader who can build a strong, collaborative community of staff and parents so all the students at Bryant can achieve academic success.

I want to thank you for your passion, your interest and your communication with me. It will take all of us working together to contribute to the success of Bryant Montessori.
