Safe Routes to School

11/4/2016 | TACOMA, Washington

Join us Nov. 16, 5- 7 p.m. at Lincoln High School for an open house to learn more about Safe Routes to School in Tacoma.

The City of Tacoma and Tacoma Public Schools are working together to develop a comprehensive program for K-12 students. The intent of this program is to empower students and parents to feel comfortable walking or bicycling to school through education, promotional activities and infrastructure improvements to increase safety.

Parents, teachers and community members are encouraged to attend the open house or complete the Safe Routes to School online survey. Refreshments and supervised children activities will be provided at the event. The success of the program being developed is based on collaboration from the community – both inside and outside the school.
