2012 kindergarten registration to begin March 1

2/24/2012 | TACOMA, Washington

Enrollment for all-day kindergarten at all Tacoma Public Schools elementary sites will begin March 1 for children who will be five years old on or before Aug. 31.
Parents should contact their school of choice for enrollment purposes. Parents are required to provide a birth certificate or other document to verify the age of their child and proof of immunization when they register for kindergarten.
Parents can find details regarding the 2012 kindergarten registration and all necessary forms under Kindergarten Registration in the For Parents column on the district home page, or they can pick up hard copies at each elementary school.
This year, parents whose child will turn age 5 between Sept. 1 and Oct. 31 can have their child screened during August for an early entrance into kindergarten. Families can contact the Early Learning department at 253-571-1415 for an appointment.
For more information about kindergarten registration, contact Early Learning Director Minh-Anh Hodge at 253-571-1415 or e-mail her at
