Every student is an individual with unique talents, learning styles and needs. Tacoma Public Schools offers highly capable services to K-12 to students who perform, or show the potential of performing, at high intellectual levels when compared with others of their age and experience. Highly capable children are present in all student groups, regardless of gender, disability, English language proficiency, economic status, ethnic or cultural background. There are approximately 1,500 K-12 students who receive Tacoma Public Schools Highly Capable services.
The new school year has arrived and we are looking forward to a great year with our Highly Capable students.
New this year for our parents is a newsletter that will be distributed to parents by email. The first newsletter will be sent within the first two weeks of school. Please make sure that your email is up-to-date with your school so that you don't miss a newsletter.
We will also post the newsletter here on the website.
