The mission of the Tacoma Public School's Comprehensive Guidance Department is to increase student achievement by providing support and removing barriers in academic, career, and personal/social development, with the ultimate outcome that all students become productive citizens.

Graduating from High School in the Tacoma School District means that each student has recieved the required credits for his/her cohort year to earn a High School Diploma. For those seeking additional credits for graduating on time or early, Tacoma offers many different ways to obtain class credits.
To prepare our students for High School and beyond, Tacoma Public Schools has an array of programs available to help Middle School students get a head start on earning High School credits. Check with your students school guidance counselor to find out what options are available.
Elementary School counselors are working to help our youngest students establish themselves in an ever changing environment.
