Family & Community Learning Academy (FCLA)

Each year, the Partnership Office hosts an FCLA to:

  • Bring the community together around the common goal of investing our time, skills and diverse abilities in the education of our children and youth — whose future, in turn, will affect the quality of life in the entire Tacoma community.
  • Create shared leadership to improve academic outcomes for youth.
  • Design a model that can be duplicated for families and community working to support student success.

FCLA offers free sessions for parents from all backgrounds, to sharpen their skills in assisting their children to succeed in school.  FCLA is open to the entire community!

College Tours for Families

For many students, attending a two- or four-year college, university, or vocational school is a crucial next step on their path to fulfilling their career and life dreams.

TPS students and families know, college is not a dream- it’s a plan. As a result, each year, Tacoma Public Schools transports students and families to eight outstanding local colleges for campus tours.

Each visit includes a customized tour and presentation from college staff on the admissions.

Return here for the Spring 2023 schedule.
