Hello, Edison families and students! I am honored and proud
to be able to serve as the principal at Edison Elementary for the 2017/18
school year. Many people have been working tirelessly through the summer to
ensure that this year is the best one yet. I am committed to ensuring that
Edison Elementary provides all students with the skills and tools they need to
be successful in all of their future endeavors—personal, professional, and
academic. I am also confident that Edison puts a world-class staff in front of
our students. We collectively believe that every child can and will achieve to
high levels, and we will do whatever it takes to make sure our students are
This year, Edison will focus on providing students with an
academically rigorous and rewarding school experience. We will work to ensure
that our students receive more personalized instruction to meet their
individual needs. We will also continue our efforts to provide students with
life skills outside of just academics. We believe that each student is a “Whole
Child,” and we embrace the opportunity to teach our students with this in mind.
As such, we are dedicated to addressing all of the needs of our students, and
we will do what it takes to provide them with all of the tools they need for their futures—not just academics.
Lastly, I am committed to ensuring that school is a place
where all students feel accepted and successful. I have an extensive background
as a high school teacher, and I am of the belief that elementary school is where
we must instill a sense of joy and eagerness for knowledge that will not only
last through school, but also put our students on the trajectory to become
life-long learners. I believe that educators must build a voracious curiosity
in our students about the world they live in if they are to become competitive
citizens in the world of tomorrow. As such, I am committed to building an
instructional program that is engaging, challenging, and one that sets up our
students for success.
To help reach our lofty goals for Edison this year, we
welcome Brett Sizemore as the assistant principal. Mr. Sizemore is a
highly-skilled educator who comes to us from Stanley Elementary. He will be
instrumental in ensuring that Edison soars to new heights for our students, and
we are proud to call him our newest addition to the Eagles staff.
Again, I cannot emphasize enough how excited and honored I
am to take on the role as principal at Edison Elementary. I approach this work
with humility and treat it with the respect and care that it deserves. I work
tirelessly to ensure that our programs meet the needs of your students and
propel them to a place where they can achieve their wildest dreams.
I look forward to working and partnering with all of you
this year! Please feel free to reach out to me via email, phone, or appointment
for an in-person meeting at any time! Go Eagles!
