Click on the Tile you want to access.

Click on the Grade tile and a summary will display.  Select “Click here to view report card” to view the full report card.

Select documents from the side navigation and click "Report Card" to see the fully formatted document.

Select Report Card from the side navigation and a summary will display.  Select “Click here to view report card” to view the full report card.

Select documents from the side navigation and click "Report Card" to download the fully formatted document.

MANAGE YOUR ACCOUNT

1. Select the My Account tab.

2.  Make updates to your account as needed.

• Click Change Password to change your password.
• Decide which notifications to receive and how often in the Auto-Notify section. These are email notifications. You can sign up for attendance alerts and weekly grade book summaries. Opt-out of electronic report cards.
• Add or edit phone numbers and/or email addresses.
• Change your First Name, Last Name, Employer, or Primary Language.

3. Click Update Account at the top right of the screen to save your updates.

MOBILE APP INSTRUCTIONS

1. Click on Student Name

2. Click on Daily Assignments

3. View the list of Assignments

4. Click on Assignment to see details

5. Click arrow next to score to see any Standards

HOW TO CHECK SCORES FOR ASSESSMENTS GIVEN IN CLASS

1. Click on Assessment

2. Any tests that are currently open for your student are listed under Tests Available Now.

3. To see results, click on the year under Online Assessment History to expand the list.

• District-level assessments will be under the District panel. All other panels will note the name of the teacher who assigned it.

Using the ParentVUE desktop or mobile app, families can email teachers, counselors and other school staff. Families can also check messages from school staff and respond to them, all within the application.

SENDING A MESSAGE TO YOUR STUDENT'S TEACHER OR OTHER SCHOOL STAFF

1. Once logged into ParentVUE, select the "Current Schedule" tile. Here you will see a list of your child’s classes for that day, including the teacher's name and an envelope icon. To send an email message, click on the envelope icon.

2. You can also access staff contact information in the Grade Book tile.

3. Once you click on the blue envelope icon a message screen will open. The teacher's email address will be pre-populated, and the subject will be the class name. Additional recipients can be added, the subject can be changed and documents can be attached. Once you have completed your message hit the green "Send" button in the upper left corner.

CHECKING MESSAGES FROM YOUR STUDENT'S TEACHER

Families may receive messages from teachers in ParentVUE. To check messages click on the "Synergy Mail" tile. This will open your mailbox and display your messages. Unread messages will be bolded. 

RECORD PRONUNCIATION OF STUDENT'S NAME

Using the ParentVUE mobile app, families can record the correct pronunciation of their student's name.

1. Once logged into ParentVUE on your mobile phone, select your student. A pop-up screen will appear asking if you would like to record the pronunciation of your student's name. To record select "Yes."

2. Next, you will be asked, "Allow ParentVUE to record audio?" select "Allow" to proceed with recording.

3. A red record button will appear. When ready to record, hit the red button and say your student's name, hit the red square when you are done. You will be able to listen to the recording and save or re-record.

REPORT AN ABSENCE DIRECTLY TO YOUR SCHOOL

Please note, tardies cannot be reported through ParentVUE.

1. Click on the Attendance tile. Then click on Report an Absence.  

2. Enter the start and end date of the absence and select a reason from the drop down menu. You may also leave an additional note.

3. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the screen to send the information to your child's school.

The Student List screen shows all students you have attending Tacoma Public Schools. Tap the child’s name to view the Navigation screen that contains his or her information.

• If your student is enrolled at more than one school, the concurrent school name displays under the primary school name.
• Tap Show Events to view district and school events.
• Tap the Settings icon to set additional preferences and notifications. See Managing Notifications and Managing Preferences for more information.

HOW TO UPDATE LANGUAGE PREFENCES IN PARENTVUE

If you'd like to receive messages in your inbox a different language, please login to your ParentVUE account or contact your school's office to update your language preference. 

1. In ParentVUE, select the "My Account" tab. 

2. At the bottom of the screen, there is a field labeled “Primary Language” with a drop-down menu to select your language. Click on your preferred language.

3. Click “Update" at the top right of the screen to save your updates.

ACCESSIBILITY & TRANSLATION FEATURES ON OUR WEBSITE

Users can translate any page on our website by clicking the flag button in the bottom right corner and selecting your preferred language. 

Users can click the blue person icon in the bottom right corner of our website to explore accessibility tools like text size, contrast, spacing and more.  

HELP US IMPROVE TRANSLATIONS

We use automatic translations to help provide information, but we understand they are not perfect. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the accuracy of a translation, please contact us at info@tacoma.k12.wa.us.  

UPDATE STUDENT INFORMATION

The updated information is routed to your school office who will review.

1. Click on the Student Information tile, then Edit Information.

2. The fields you can change will be open for editing. Make any changes then click Save Changes.  Note:  you cannot edit your address, that must be done at the school.

WEB BROWSER INSTRUCTIONS

The Attendance page displays the student’s attendance records. Information displays in two main sections. The Attendance Calendar displays a visual record of absences for the student. The Totals by Course and Period section displays attendance totals by course and period. You can also view the attendance total by days in the Days of Attendance section.

1. Click Attendance in the Navigation bar.
2. Click the right or left arrows to scroll between months, or select the Focus menu to select a month to view.
3. Hover over a course in the Totals by Course section to view absence details.
4. Select Detail in the Days of Attendance section. The icons indicate the attendance information for that  period and date.

MOBILE APP INSTRUCTIONS

The Attendance screen displays all the days the student was marked absent or tardy and the date for the entry. If your student is enrolled in concurrent schools, attendance information for both schools is displayed.

• Tap a day to view more details.
• Tap the Email icon to email the instructor.
• Tap Legend to view descriptions for the icons used on the Attendance screens.
• Tap Summary to view the Summary screen. This displays totals by period for each attendance reason.

CLASS SCHEDULES

The Class Schedule page lists the period, course title, room name and the teacher for each class. Secondary schedule information displays all courses the student takes in the semester.

1. Click Current Schedule tile.
2. Click the Term abbreviation (for example, 1st Qtr, 1st Semester, 3rd Qtr, 2nd Semester) to view a different semester’s schedule.

• The schedule lists the Period, Course Title, Room Name and the Teacher.
• Click the staff member name or envelope icon to send a message.

Note: Elementary schedule information typically displays only one course in the class schedule, labeled with the student's grade. 

COURSE HISTORY

The Course History page displays secondary student’s courses, the grades received for all years and all schools, the cumulative GPA, and graduation ranking.

1. Click Course History tile.

2. Select Detail to view additional detail for Graduation Status, Test Requirements or Student Course History. The Graduation Status section provides detailed credit and test requirements information, if appropriate to the student's school grade level. This is the same information that displays on the student's transcript. 

3. Select Detail in the Student Course History section. Each course displays with the Mark earned, Credit Attempted and Credit Completed.

4. Use the second scroll bar to scroll down to the bottom to see all classes. 

GUARDIANS AND STUDENTS CAN VIEW DISTRICT ANNOUNCEMENTS

You will receive a notification, and/or can click on the calendar to see the announcement.

Please note that each parent will receive their own separate activation key.

ACTIVATE USING WEB BROWSER

1. Check your email for your activation code. The subject is "ParentVUE Activation for Synergy". Please check your junk folder.
2. Click on the link in the email.
3. Read through the Privacy Statement. 
4. Click "I Accept" (located at the bottom of the page).
5. Enter your own chosen username, secure password, and your preferred email address. Please keep your password memorized and secure. 
6. Click "Complete Account Activation" to finish setting up the account. You will be transported to the ParentVUE portal.

DOWNLOAD MOBILE APP

1. Go to your iOS or Android App store.
2. Search the store for the free "ParentVUE" app by EduPoint. 
3. Once you have installed the app, you can search for the district’s name by zip code (XXXXX) from within the app.
4. Use your newly created ParentVUE account username and password (as part of the directions above) to log in and see your child's school information through the app on your mobile device.

WEB BROWSER INSTRUCTIONS 

If your child’s school has an email address on file for you, we will send you an email with your activation key. If you do not get the email, please check with your child’s school. Once you have received your activation key, please follow the steps below to activate your account using a web browser. 

1. Open a web browser (Chrome preferred) and navigate to the ParentVUE login page: https://wa-tacoma-psv.edupoint.com/PXP2_Login.aspx
2. You can translate into your preferred language at any time using the button on the bottom right of the login screen. The default is English.
3. On the main landing page select I am a Parent. 

4. On the Parent login screen click the yellow power button that says "Activate Account"

5. Read and agree to the Privacy Agreement by clicking I accept. 

6. Enter your first name, last name and activation key you received in your email. Click Continue to Step 3.

Note: Check your email for your activation code. The subject is "ParentVUE Activation for Synergy". Please check your junk folder.

7. Create a user name, password, and the email address the school has on file for you. Click Complete Account Activation. 

MOBILE APP INSTRUCTIONS

If your child’s school has an email address on file for you, we will send you an email with your activation key. If you do not get the email, please check with your child’s school. Once you have received your activation key, please follow the steps below to activate your account using the mobile app. 

Note: It’s recommended families enroll via a desktop rather than mobile version of ParentVUE.

1. Download the ParentVUE app from the app store on your smartphone or tablet.

2. Follow the instructions to swipe left on your device.

3. Enter in Tacoma’s zip code (98405) to locate Tacoma Public Schools. 

4. Select Tacoma  Public Schools from the list. 

5. On the main login screen, select the language you prefer. All communication from ParentVUE will be translated to the selected Language. This can be updated at any time. To update your language:

A) Click on Current Language. 
B) Scroll to the language desired. 
C) Click Select. 

6. From the login screen, select the option Have activation key? Create my account. 

Note: Check your email for your activation code. The subject is "ParentVUE Activation for Synergy". Please check your junk folder.

7. Read and agree to the Use Agreement by clicking I accept. 

8. Enter your first name, last name and activation key. Click Continue to Step 3. 

9. Create a user name and password. Enter your email address. Click Complete Account Activation.
