Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports (PBIS)

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a system we use in our schools to positively impact outcomes for students. The system provides support in a way that allows all students to succeed.

With PBIS, students understand what behaviors are expected of them, and our staff is trained to help.

PBIS works in three tiers.

Tier 1 is for all students. It includes proactive and positive ways to impact behavior, including our signature practices such as using warm greetings and emotion checks with students. The intention is to help students feel safe and show them they belong.

Tiers 2 and 3 are for some students. They use other Whole Child practices, like working in small group restorative circles. School counselors might give students a referral to a community mental health partner for additional help.
