ABOUT THE PROJECT

As part of the 2024 Bond promise to voters, the Central Administration Building (CAB), originally constructed in 1911, will undergo a critical partial renovation to modernize infrastructure, increase energy efficiency, and improve accessibility, while preserving the building’s historic integrity. This $20 million project addresses essential upgrades that ensure regulatory compliance, occupant safety, and operational functionality for decades to come.

This project is funded by the $650 million school construction bond voters passed in 2024.

Improvements at Central Administration Building

Beginning in January 2026, much-needed renovations will be made to the historic 1911 Central Administration Building. This partial renovation project may include, but is not limited to:

Removal, renovation, and replacement of existing windows to increase energy efficiency
Modification to the HVAC system to include central heating and forced air return repair in compliance with the Clean Building Act
Renovations to the plumbing system to include plumbing repair
Remediation to the lighting system –this may include electrical upgrades to improve efficiency and energy compliance with the Clean Building Act
Select renovations to interior finishes to include paint, flooring, ceilings, etc.
ADA modifications to existing restrooms
Roofing repairs
Masonry tuckpointing
