Our mission is to create meaningful global connections through student exchanges, cultural understanding, language development, and leadership growth.

Tacoma Public Schools (TPS) is committed to bringing the world to our city and taking our students out into the world. We believe that young people deserve the chance to understand the world in which we live and the world they will lead with rapidly changing conditions.

We strive to create opportunities where students can:

investigate and research the world and its people and cultures
understand how and why people and cultures have perspectives that differ from theirs
express themselves across cultures and communicate their ideas
take action when there are opportunities to improve the lives of others

Tacoma Public Schools hosts educators, students, and government officials from around the world. Whether you want to visit schools, have students attend for a short stay, or simply have meetings with us concerning educational partnerships and student exchanges.
