Veterinary: Medical Scribe
- Students must be logged in to their district account to submit an application
- Applications take 15-20 minutes to complete
- Students will be asked to provide contact information for themselves and a parent/guardian

The veterinary scribe certificate program is an online course that introduces students to basic anatomy and medical terminology associated with physical exams, diagnostics, and pharmacology. In addition, students learn how to navigate a medical record, including documenting and charting the veterinary visit and associated regulations. This certificate is recommended for individuals interested in starting a career in the medical or veterinary field.
Summer 2024 Program Details
- Application deadline: May 17 is the priority deadline. Applications received after the deadline may be considered if there is space.
- Program dates: Summer 2024 (asynchronous/online).
- Optional hands-on activities at Lincoln.
- Meeting location: Online
- Notify selected applicants: early June
- Approximate hours to complete: 100 to 130 (depending on background knowledge of medical terminology and animal anatomy/physiology)
- Certifications: Junior Verterinary Scribe Certificate of Completion by Washington State University
- Completion stipend: $500 (upon successful completion of all program components)
- Credits toward graduation: 0.5 elective credits
- Total spots available: 15
- Special considerations for this program: Must be at least 16 years old to receive certifications. Younger students may apply but are not eligible to earn certifications.

Average Salary (as of 3/7/24): $50,699 source (as a remote scribe working in the veterinary field, hourly rates go up to $26 per hour)
Required Education: Proficient typing skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and/or course work/certifications
