About Jobs 253

Jobs 253 connects Tacoma Public Schools high school students with real-world, paid work experiences that build professional skills, confidence, and career readiness. Through partnerships with local employers and community organizations, Jobs 253 acts as a conduit for students gain hands-on experience across diverse industries, earning a $500 stipend and high school credit while exploring potential career paths. Designed to bridge education and opportunity, Jobs 253 empowers students to discover their strengths, grow their networks, and take the first step toward their future success.

Update to Programming

Beginning with Session 3, all student applications for any Jobs 253 experience will require a W-9 Upload upon registration. Please use the template found HERE to complete your W-9 and attach to all applications/registrations for future Jobs 253 experiences. 

This new requirement has been made to ensure timely delivery of payment upon successful completion of your Jobs 253 experience. Failure to produce a completed, accurate W-9 may cause for a delay in payment.

For any students who have participated in previous sessions who have not fulfilled their W-9 requirement, please email a completed W-9 form directly to the Jobs 253 Coordinator Directly at Jobs253@Tacoma.k12.wa.us.

Complete an application and take it to the Gesa branch at 2637 N Pearl St to open your account and get your card. Mt. Tahoma and Stadium HS students can open an account at the credit union on campus!
