School Improvements Across TPS

Thank you voters, for approving our 2024 bond measure to replace or renovate a number of our aging neighborhood schools. 

The bond also provides for needed improvements across Tacoma, including replacement of aged and deteriorating roofs; retrofitting buildings for earthquake safety; improvements on playgrounds, playfields and athletic facilities to meet safety standards; Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility improvements; and heating, ventilation and plumbing upgrades for clean air and safe water.

All schools will receive: 

  • Access to an expanded career and technical education facility that focuses on agricultural sciences and wildlife studies to give students more paths to grow and learn.
  • Central school district kitchen serving all TPS schools that provides high-quality, nutritious food from more local farmers and food providers so students can stay healthy and focused on learning.
