IDEA High School Replacement Project

IDEA High School, built in 1912 as Park Elementary to serve students in grades K-5, now serves high school students from across the school district who want to study industrial design, engineering and art. Lessons focus on innovative design and prototyping.

 

As part of district’s efforts to both right-size and improve its facilities for students and the community, Tacoma Public Schools plans to relocate the bond-supported rebuild of IDEA High School at the former Gault Middle School site (seen below) and sell the current Park Avenue location. The recently build Eastside Soccer Fields are across the street from the future IDEA and will remain open for the community to use.

While their school is under construction, IDEA students will remain in their current school building.
