Mathematics
During the 2018-19 school year, a team of (62) TPS educators prioritized the Washington State Learning Standards for Mathematics and developed a P-12 Mathematics Framework. These significant efforts served as the foundation for the adoption for core instructional materials. As the next step for aligning content supports within K-12 Mathematics, the Curriculum and Instruction department brought educators together in May 2018 to vet existing adopted curriculum using a scoring rubric aligned with state and local expectations.
The outcomes of this in-depth analysis from our educators showed a need to update the core instructional materials. Under the oversight of the Instructional Materials Committee (IMC) the Curriculum and Instruction Department engaged educators in three-rounds of scoring to determine the best candidate for elementary, middle, and high school mathematics.
