Registered Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships start with a job!  Students progress though a two-year articulated program that consists of 144 hours of Related Supplemental Instruction (RSI) and 2000 hours of paid On-the-Job Training (OJT).

Tacoma School District currently offers 4 registered apprenticeship opportunities:

  1. Automotive Service Technician - Currently teamed up with Tacoma’s Titus-Will Ford, students diagnose and service cars, and are trained on state-of-the-art equipment and tools.
  2. Preparation Cook - Students work in Tacoma restaurants and catering companies to gain experience in the fast-paced culinary industry.
  3. Production Technician (AJAC) - Based in machining, students work with skilled technicians to craft parts for leading aerospace companies.
  4. Production Cabinet Assembler - Student apprentices measure, cut, assemble, and finish custom cabinets for global clients and learn the craft of woodworking.
