Describe how it will look when this objective is being fully met in your School. Also describe the information you will need to provide evidence that this objective is fully met.
There are three main initiatives for the 2016-17 school year: 1. Standards Based Grading (SBG), 2. Inclusion/Co-Teaching, and 3. Continued school-wide AVID implementation.  Once fully implemented we will know we have met our goals if the following occurs:
SBG – In all content areas grades will be aligned to CCSS and will better align/predict SBA Scores.  We will monitor and measure this ongoing throughout the year in the following ways: Quarterly grades and iReady scores will be aligned, and there will be fewer E and D graded in targeted classes (Social Studies, Math)
Inclusion/Co-Teaching – End of year data will indicate that 50% of SPED students are in inclusion classrooms,  SBA scores will increase by 15% growth overall in all levels in both reading and math for students with disabilities subgroup in the inclusion classroom(s), and grade distribution for these same students in inclusive classrooms will be comparable to non-SPED students in the same class.
School-wide AVID implementation – There will be an increase in student discourse through the classroom use of Socratic Seminar, Philosophical Chairs, and Costa’s questioning strategies in all content areas.  Additionally, students and teachers will be using Inter-active Notebooks (INB) and binders as a resource for student learning rather than a compliance.  This will be monitored and measured through consistent walk-thru data (anecdotal and quantifiable).   By the end of the year we will have 80% implementation.
Create a series of tasks that will lead to full implementation of this objective. Be sure to include tasks for gathering and analyzing the information needed to show evidence of full implementation.
SBG –
Ongoing training by Instructional coach that focuses on the technical (gradebook).
PLC Whole staff and content groups will do research, inquiry and discussion on the adaptive/philosophical practices of SBG
Weekly grade book checks by administration
Quarterly data reports shared in PLC groups
Inclusion/Co-Teaching
Ongoing training on Marilyn Friend Co-Teaching Strategies
PD and PLC work on three Co-Teaching strategies: Parallel Teaching, Station teaching and One Teach/One Support
Walkthrough tool feedback.
AVID
Quarterly walk-thrus by all content areas, students, and District AVID representative.

P2-IF11 - Professional development will be aligned with identified needs based on staff evaluation and student performance.

During the 2016-17 school year Baker will implement Cohort 1 of the Leadership Cadre.  This was created as a result of staff feedback and the need for more clarity and teacher leadership around the Late Start Wednesday PLC time.  This group will be working directly with ABEO, an outside agency, to grow in their leadership capacity.  Ongoing monitoring and measurement of this growth will be collected through ongoing staff surveys.  By the end of the school year we will be measuring at least a 3.75 (out of 4 on Survey Monkey tool) in the area of staff growth in the three initiatives for the year.

Create a series of tasks that will lead to full implementation of this objective. Be sure to include tasks for gathering and analyzing the information needed to show evidence of full implementation.
Summer PD June 2016 for LC#1 in June
August 2016 PD with ABEO
Monthly admin meetings with LC#1

With the focus on SBG and the Inclusion model during the 2016-17 school year this will be a strong focus for the year. Teachers will use data from formative/summative assessments designed from SBG practices to guide decisions on student intervention groupings for the different co-teaching models.

Create a series of tasks that will lead to full implementation of this objective. Be sure to include tasks for gathering and analyzing the information needed to show evidence of full implementation.
Ongoing training on co-teaching models
Sessions with content PLCs and Instructional coaches to hone SBG practices

P5-IID08 - Instructional Teams will use student learning data to assess strengths and weaknesses of the curriculum and instructional strategies. (106)(ELL, Expected, SWD, Title ITA)

Co-taught/Inclusion classes will strategically use one of the three focus methods to best meet student needs (Parallel Teaching, Station teaching and One Teach/One Support. Teachers will hone their own practice on these methods through ongoing PD on Marilyn Friend Co-teaching practices.  Results will be measured in the following ways: SBA scores will increase by 15% in both reading and math for those students in the inclusion classroom(s), and grade distribution for students in inclusive classrooms will be comparable to non-SPED students in the same class.
Create a series of tasks that will lead to full implementation of this objective. Be sure to include tasks for gathering and analyzing the information needed to show evidence of full implementation.
PD on co-teaching for Inclusion teachers  (minimum 3x/year – August, December, April)
Content PLC will use grade distribution, iReady, SBA data to guide learning and discussion on Late Start Wednesdays
Data Day (October, January, March) will share data connected to grade distribution to lead to content conversations on calibration of standards, assignments and assessments.
Walk-Thru tool will also be used to provide teachers with feedback on co-teaching practices.
P6-IIIC16 The school leadership team will ensure that the school environment is safe and supportive (i.e., it addresses non-academic factors, such as social and emotional well-being). (2639)

During the 2016-17 school year, Baker will be a monthly Saturday School to support the social-emotional needs of Tier 3 students. These are students for which other interventions have proven to not be effective.  The Saturday schools will follow a theme based on the needs of students attending (ACES education, Learning to self-advocate, De-escalation strategies, Restorative Circles).  The result of these sessions will be a decrease of 10% for discipline referrals in the categories of “Disruptive Conduct” and “Aggressive Behavior”. 2015-16 data = 88 referrals for “DC”, 2017 goal = 79 or fewer referrals.  2015-16 data = 19 referrals for “AB”, 2017 goal = 10 or fewer referrals.
We will also work on changing staff climate toward students and the Baker community, specifically connected to issues of race and justice. This will be done through an optional bi-monthly PD titled “courageous conversations”.
Create a series of tasks that will lead to full implementation of this objective. Be sure to include tasks for gathering and analyzing the information needed to show evidence of full implementation.
Once a month Saturday School starting in October – based on student need
Grade Level PLC – share discipline data
2x/month – courageous conversations group  - Staff PD on conversations of race and justice
Book studies in Grade Level PLCs
P7-IVA13 the LEA/School will engage parents and community in the transformation process. (1649)

During the 2016-17 school year Baker will host two Family Nights that specifically focus on the SBG and Inclusion/Co-Teaching initiatives.  The purpose of these family/community gatherings will be to teach families about the philosophy of the SBG and Inclusion.  Parents will be given the opportunity to experience, understand and ask questions about the initiatives. The impact of these nights will be measured by attendance.  Our target attendance for this will be a) 10% from each grade level at the SBG family night, b) 10% total from Inclusion population for the Inclusion Night.
