What are we doing?
Tacoma Public Schools is committed to making its website usable by all people by meeting or exceeding the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 Level AA (WCAG 2.0 AA). These guidelines are recognized as the standard international guidelines and were developed by the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI). The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA). We’ve chosen Level AA as the target for the Your School website.
We have engaged the Bureau of Internet Accessibility, an accessibility consulting company, to conduct an accessibility audit of our website and provide us with specific recommendations that will assist us in ensuring that our Web presence is in conformance with the WCAG 2.0 AA.
Please be aware that our efforts are ongoing as we implement the relevant improvements to meet WCAG 2.0 AA guidelines over time. How are we doing?
