The Board recognizes the right of its employees, as citizens, to engage in political activities. A staff member may seek an elective office but is prohibited from campaigning on school property, on work time, or while engaged in job responsibilities for the District. In the event the staff member is elected to office, the employee may request a leave of absence in accordance with the leave policies of the District or the provisions of the applicable labor agreement for the employee.

All District employees shall comply with the Public Disclosure Commission’s guidelines for school Districts in election campaigns.

No individual shall solicit on District property for any contribution to be used for partisan political purpose.

No individual shall use District equipment, resources, materials, supplies, or time for campaigning purposes.
