Students


Health services will be provided for all students. Such services shall include but not be limited to:

  • The maintenance of student health records, including immunization records and screening;
  • Hearing as well as both distance and near vision screenings for: (1) students in grades K, 1, 2, 3, 5, 7; and (2) for any child showing symptoms of possible loss in auditory or visual acuity and are referred to the District by parents, guardians, school staff or students who self-report;
  • The temporary care of students who become ill or injured during the school day;
  • Screening students, as appropriate, for head lice (pediculosis capitis);
  • The exclusion of students with head lice, pending successful treatment and elimination;
  • School and community education regarding the policy, head lice prevention, transmission, treatment and community services.

In addition, health services may include dental health activities. The superintendent is authorized to establish requirements for individuals or entities seeking to provide dental health activities, including, but not limited to, an agreement to protect and hold the district harmless from liability in connection with the service.
