Appeal Hearings Before the Board

The Board of Directors is committed to a fair and equitable process for all parties while upholding the integrity of all adopted policies for the district.

Parents or staff members have the right to request an appeal hearing before the Board of Directors for certain determinations made by the District. Appeals may be from conclusions made by a school principal or by the Superintendent, or designee, under the following district policies that require an investigation:

During an appeal hearing, the Board looks for evidence to help them understand whether there is sufficient reason to change the District's decision. The Board will hear testimony and review information provided by the parties to determine whether or not a decision made by the District should be upheld, reversed, or modified.

How to request an appeal hearing

All appeals must be submitted in writing to the Board executive assistant within 10 calendar days of receiving the decision. Written notice may be provided as an email or letter.
