Take a virtual tour of the new Hunt Middle School

This animation gives a glimpse into what the new Hunt Middle School will look like. Local firms BCRA Design and Absher Construction designed and are building the new Hunt Middle School.

In formulating ideas for Hunt, local firm BCRA Design worked with students from Stewart Middle School and Wainwright Intermediate School for inspiration. The result is a unique design with flexible spaces that embrace arts and sciences; design and graphics used as a teaching tool; and good use of the large campus with sculptural landscapes that accommodate outdoor learning spaces.

The new Hunt will open as a comprehensive middle school for West End and Fircrest families. It will sit in the same area as the old main building, with the main entrance on South 10th Street, about opposite of South Whitman Street. The round building at Mildred and South 10th will remain.

Construction of the comprehensive middle school continues through June 2021, with the new Hunt expected to open in fall 2021.

TPS is now accepting choice applications for Hunt. If your student lives outside the Hunt boundary area but is interested in attending Hunt, please visit TacomaSchools.org/enroll and follow the links to the choice enrollment form.
