Drive by the construction site at Mildred and S. 10th streets this month and you can’t miss the cranes preparing to set pieces of the roof over the classroom wings, main entry, library and commons. The gym’s rooftop is almost done, with skylights in the shape of solar tubes visible from the gym ceiling to the rooftop.
Siding is in plain view, and the large storefront windows just need a few finishing touches before all the windows in the building are complete.
Painters have started with the classrooms on the second floor, while workers install drywall on the first floor.
Inside, electrical panels and plumbing in the kitchen and music classroom areas are in progress, along with preparation work for flooring and carpet in the classroom wings.
