Hunt construction team welcomes students Sept. 8

Hunt Middle School students arrived to cheers and a big welcome from the team that designed and built their new school, Absher Construction and BCRA Architects. Sixth grader Sar Gautman couldn’t control his excitement this morning on his first day in middle school as he watched Hunt Thunder mascot dance and wave pom-poms with staff.

The newly built Hunt Middle School is now open to 6th and 7th graders on Tacoma's West End, alleviating crowding at schools nearby.  It's one of eight aging neighborhood schools replaced across the district approved by voters in the 2020 bond measure.
