Free, voluntary COVID-19 testing available at school starting Sept. 20

Starting Sept. 20, students who show symptoms of COVID-19 in school can take a free, voluntary test to confirm whether they have the virus.

Parents must give permission for their child to self-administer the test.

Results are reported back to the school and family within 24-48 hours, at which time appropriate quarantine and contact tracing protocols start.

Tacoma Public Schools is partnering with the Washington State Department of Health to offer what’s called the Curative-brand test.
Taking the test is simple. Watch as one of our youngest learners shows how easy it is to take the Curative-brand test.

To keep others healthy, please keep your child home if they are sick, have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 or have tested positive for COVID-19.
