Free summer meals for TPS students starting June 28

Tacoma students can get free summer meals Monday through Thursday, starting Monday, June 28.

Students can get TPS meal packs in two different ways:

  • Anyone 18 years old and younger can pick up breakfast/lunch meal packs from 11 a.m. to noon, Monday through Thursday, at these middle schools: Baker, First Creek, Gray, Jason Lee and Meeker. Children must be present during meal pick up. The last day for meals at First Creek, Gray and Meeker is July 29. The last day for meals at Baker and Jason Lee is Aug. 31.
  • Students participating in summer programs at TPS sites will receive a breakfast and lunch. Any exceptions will be communicated with families.

No meals will be served June 21-25 during the transition from the current school year to summer meal service. All sites will be closed Monday, July 5, in observance of the Fourth of July holiday.

Families now receiving Pandemic EBT benefits will automatically receive these grocery benefits over the summer.

Want more options? Metro Parks Tacoma offers free summer meals for those under 18 years old from June 28 through Sept. 3. The Summer Meals Site Finder can help you find even more meal sites: Find Meals for Kids When Schools are Closed | USDA-FNS

In the fall, free breakfast and lunch will be available at school for all TPS students.
