This has been a devastating year for so many, and there is a chance that the next few weeks could make things more challenging.

The Puget Sound region, state and nation have been facing a range of stressful events for many months now, including ongoing systemic racism, rising numbers of COVID-19, civil unrest and today’s contentious national election.

When we feel a lack of control, it can be helpful to ground in our purpose. At Tacoma Public Schools, our purpose is our students. It is our shared belief that all of our students can achieve their full potential by participating in the relevant, challenging and individualized experience we provide. All TPS staff members are deeply dedicated to those we serve, and we will continue to lead bravely during these difficult times.

If your student is in need of support, please reach out to your teacher or a trusted staff member. We're in this together.
