Honoring Native American Heritage Month

November is Native American Heritage Month. We are proud to celebrate the invaluable contributions of Native American communities, and we are pleased to acknowledge and teach the history surrounding Tacoma Public Schools being on the land of the Puyallup Tribe.

Join us in continuing to learn and share the stories that enrich our shared history. Watch as the students responds to the question, “What does ‘we are still here’ mean to you?”

These videos make up a series honoring Native American Heritage Month and the perspective of some Native American students in our schools. It’s part of a broader effort by Tacoma Public Schools to honor different cultures and experiences of our staff, students and community.
