Important spring 2009 WASL update

This is an important update regarding the Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL). Although you may have heard of changes in state assessment coming in the future, students in grades 3 through 8 and high school will take the WASL this spring as scheduled. Please remember that if your high school student has not passed the WASL in math, they must continue to take the WASL. Passing the WASL or an approved alternative is still a high school graduation requirement.

More information about changes in state assessment in 2010 and beyond will be coming soon as we learn more. At this point, we just wanted to let you know that the WASL will be administered this spring as scheduled.

Please contact the Public Information Office, 253.571.1015, if you need additional information or assistance. Thank you.
