The Tacoma Public Schools will sponsor the Simplified Summer Food Program for Children. Beginning June 20, the district will provide meals at no charge to children 18 years of age and younger.
This means free breakfast and sack lunches will be available this summer on a first-come, first-served basis to children under 18. Meals will be provided at various times and sites, such as schools, parks and community centers.
To find the location and time of summer meals sites nearest you, visit the district’s Web site at
www.tacomaschools.org and under the For Parents section choose the School Meals link and then the Summer Meals Program link on the right-hand side or call Paul Conger in the Nutrition Services office at 253-571-3370. Meals sites locations can also be searched by zip code at
www.parenthelp123.org or call the Family Food Hotline at 1-888-4-FOOD-WA (1-888-436-6392).
