At its Nov. 12 meeting, the board held a study session on capital levies and made the decision to put a capital levy for construction on the Feb. 9 ballot along with the Replacement Educational Programs and Operations Levy. The replacement levy provides about 22 percent of the funding for day-to-day operations, teachers and programs, and would replace the operations levy that expires December 2010.
If approved by voters, the capital levy will help continue the long-range plan for modernizing or replacing aging schools. The board will determine which schools to include in the capital levy.

The board is expected to vote on levy resolutions at its Monday, Nov. 23, meeting to be held at 12:01 p.m. in the fourth-floor auditorium at the Central Administration Building.
