School Board President Kim Golding has been taking a leadership course since March through the Leadership Washington State School Directors Association (WSSDA) Class of 2009 and will graduate from the program in November at the annual conference. The training is designed to develop proactive, visionary leaders.
Leadership WSSDA offers committed school board members from across the state the opportunity to work closely together, sharing ideas and experiences throughout a year-long course. Participants receive training from content experts in an informal setting, experience issues and solutions first-hand, and share innovative district programs with fellow board members.
Leadership WSSDA inspires board members to challenge themselves in new ways by delving deeper into important issues, creating new connections throughout the state and developing advanced skills. In the process, they become a more effective agent of change and model ethical leadership.
Next class to begin in March 2010
Experienced school directors can apply to participate in the Leadership Washington State School Directors Association (WSSDA) Class of 2010. The deadline for applications is Dec. 31, and the first session takes place March 12-13, 2010. Notification of acceptance will be sent by Jan. 31, 2010.
