June 10, 2014 - Letter from Principal Erwin regarding our building-wide extended-day model starting in 2014-15.
Welcome to Lincoln High School for the 2014-2015 school year.
Lincoln has changed over the years and we are now an award winning high school known for excellence in academics, athletics and enrichment programs. We expect this to continue as we move forward with some changes for the coming year. Based on our successes with Lincoln High School and our Lincoln Center model, we have decided to make some changes in order to better serve all of our students.
Specifically, we will be changing our daily schedule by adding time in the day for homework help and academic advising. This means that students will finish their school day at 3:05 Mondays through Thursdays. We will not hold the study hall on Fridays so students will finish at 2:05. Another change is that we will no longer hold Saturday School enrichment days. Instead we will host one enrichment Friday per month with students visiting college campuses, museums and various cultural events.
Our goal in all of this is to see your child graduate from high school and be prepared for college, work, or service to their country. We have seen rising levels of success over the years and by providing more support, more time, greater access to the best teachers in the state, we will see these desired results.
We will continue with our award winning athletics and enrichment programs and we encourage all of our students to join us as we compete and win against the best talent in the state.
Thank you for joining us as we create brilliant futures for our students.
