What can I do to help with
my slow computer?

One possible cause of computer slowness is that it may need to
be defragged. Open My Computer and right click on the "c" drive,
left click on Properties, click on the Tools tab, then under
Defragmentation click on Defragment Now...Analyze and wait for
the prompt to defrag.

Another option is to do a Disk cleanup. Open My Computer and right
click on the "c" drive, left click on Properties, General Tab and select
Disk Cleanup.

How can I adjust my
desktop view?

Right Click on your desktop and left click on Properties then
Settings. The more resolution, your icons will appear small. Decrease
the resolution and your desktop icons are large.
How come I cannot get online
with my computer?
First you need to check the network connection on the computer.
This is where the ethernet cable is connected to the computer.
You should see a flashing light of orange/green. Also check other
computers in your room to see if they have a connection. If you do
not have any connection in the room, call Technology Help Line
at 4357 (HELP).
I saved items to my desktop
& after rebooting, the items are not there.
District computers have an application installed call Deep
Freeze. You will see this in the bottom right of your screen.
It appears as a Polar Bear. If there is not a red circle with
a line thru it, your deskop is frozen and will not allow items
to be saved to it. This is enabled on student computers.
If this is your staff computer, call Technology Help Line at
4357 (HELP).
