Print Shop
The Tacoma School District Printing and Graphics Department is located in the Central Administration Building at 601 South 8th Street, Room 224. We process an average of 900 job requests each month and over 16 million impressions each year. By providing copying and printing services for hundreds of teachers and staff, we make the learning process better for each child. Curriculum materials, office forms, menus, wide format printing are a sampling of the many products and services that we provide in-house. Every copy made at P&G saves the district money and saves the school staff time better spent in the classroom.
With 3 full-time and 2 part-time staff, we pride ourselves on answering the phone in person for each call. We are a resourceful staff with answers to your printing and design questions. Take advantage of our skills and expertise and give us a call.
Copy fleet management
The school district has over 230 multi-function devices in place. These devices allow staff to copy, print, fax and scan documents. By scanning to PDF, paper and copy expense can be reduced. If users scan to their email address, they will also have an automatically archived copy of their document.
P&G helps monitor usage and charge back cost to the schools and departments for their MFD usage. Each site pays for the lease related cost as well and the click charge per device on a monthly basis. All users have PIN codes needed to access the device. With user code enforcement in place, the sites are able to monitor and enforce limits on their copy and print users.
Each site has been issued a list of PIN codes for all staff as well as extra codes which may be assigned to itinerant staff (such as nurses or counselors) who might need to make copies/prints. P&G helps provide support for user codes. Call with 571-1170 with any questions regarding codes and monitoring usage.
