Built in its current form in 1953, with an addition in 1967, Mann Elementary School needed an update. Thanks to the 2001 Bond Issue, that’s exactly what it got in 2003.
The design team worked diligently to reconfigure the old building to bring it into the 21st century. They came up with a design that provided a new identity, entry and a secure, functional floor plan.
Along with four new classrooms, the remodel added: a new entry gallery; new relocated administration and library areas; renovated handicapped access; seismic improvements; renovated music and instructional activities spaces; and other miscellaneous modernization renovations.
All of these new features were added with the extra challenge that students and staff were onsite during the 2002-03 school year. And in the end, the phased/occupied project was completed on-time and on-budget with minimal disruptions to the school day.
The improvements were completed September 2003.
