The Equity & Diversity Office is required by state law to implement and monitor programs that ensure gender equity in athletics, club or intramural athletics; recreational activities; career counseling services and/or class assignments. This mandate also requires a survey of students in order to determine their interest level in activities current or desired. The results of the survey are required by law to be used to develop programs and/or institute changes. This office conducts the survey, reviews survey analysis, assists in developing program changes when determined to be appropriate, monitors outcomes and makes recommendation for modifications or changes. The Equity & Diversity Office has the responsibility of serving as a resource to parents, agencies and community groups external to the District in response to inquiries regarding District policy, laws and training. |
