Located on Tacoma’s eastside, Sheridan Elementary School is surrounded by a culturally diverse community that has grown considerably in the past few years. Sheridan serves about 615 students—preschool through fifth grade, from all around the city. We have a state-of-the-art technology network. Each classroom has access to the Internet and the Accelerated Reader program through a network computer system. Our building facilities, especially the gymnasium and multi-purpose room, are used in the evenings by a variety of community organizations. We have an after-school program in partnership with ―Communities in Schools. Many of our students also participate in after-school activities at the nearby Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound, Eastside Neighborhood Program Site.
